NEWS

• Reminder:  Invoices for 2009 annual fees were mailed to all owners in December. A $25.00 late charge will be assessed on all accounts that are unpaid as of March 1, 2009. 

• The annual Marina Billing will be mailed around March 15. Invoices will be payable no later than April 1st.   Anyone wishing to relinquish their marina slip should contact the CFA Office.

• The CFA annual meeting and election will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, June 6th.  This year we have two Director seats open for election to two-year terms.
  
  
• The election is open to members in good standing.  Interested candidates should file a statement of candidacy through the office no later than 4 pm on Friday, April 24.  This statement typically consists of a letter stating intent to run for the board and a brief summary of views and qualifications.
  
  
• Voting packages containing the candidacy statements of those running for the board, absentee ballot, and a letter from our Board Chairman explaining the voting process will be mailed to owners no later than May 15.
  
  
• Please consider becoming a CFA Board Member.  CFA exists and thrives only through the efforts of its members! 

• The Campground bathhouse will be open for the summer season on Friday March 13th. Summer rates will then be in effect until November 15th, 2007.

• Cookie Broadway resigned as CFA Business Manager at the beginning of the year to pursue other opportunities.  We’d like to thank Cookie for her years of dedicated service to CFA and wish her the very best in her future endeavors!

• Annette Frick was hired as our new Business Manager and started work in February.  Welcome, Annette!

• Thanks to Tom Miller and John Olmstead for all their time and effort during the Business Manager transition!  These guys put in many hours to keep the office and association running and to train Annette.

• Thanks to Todd Morton for his assistance and use of his backhoe to repair a large sinkhole under the road at Point Oval and Island Creek.

• Please contact Michelle King if you would be willing to volunteer with Entertainment Committee activities or if you have suggestions on future events.  If you would like to be emailed about upcoming events, send an email to mcleanentmk@carolina.net, and Michelle will put you on her email list.   Thanks to everyone who has helped with all of 2008's activities

• Editor’s Note:  The departure of Cookie Broadway and subsequent transition of her replacement caused us to delay production of this newsletter.  We’ll resume our normal schedule with the next newsletter.
