NEWS

• The 2010 CFA Budget mailed in November was adopted at the December Board Meeting. Most notably, there is no Lot Fee increase this year. CFA finally seems to be nearing financial stability.  

• The 2010 CFA Invoices were mailed in December, with payment due on January 1st. A $25 late fee will be added to any account not paid by 4:00 PM February 26th. This year we accept credit cards, offer a payment plan, and participate in automatic checking debit (ACH) to provide more flexibility and payment options to property owners.

• The annual Marina Billing will be mailed around March 15. Invoices will be payable no later than April 1st. Fees on the primary lot must be paid in full in order to lease a marina slip. Anyone wishing to relinquish their marina slip should contact the CFA Office.

• The CFA annual meeting and election will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, June 5. This year we have three Director seats open for election to two-year terms.
  

• The election is open to members in good standing. Interested candidates should file a statement of candidacy through the office no later than 4 pm on Friday, April 23. This statement typically consists of a letter stating intent to run for the board and a brief summary of views and qualifications.

• Voting packages containing the candidacy statements of those running for the board, absentee ballot, and a letter from our Board Chairman explaining the voting process will be mailed to owners no later than May 15.
  

• Please consider becoming a CFA Board Member. CFA exists and thrives only through the efforts of its members!
  

• We have worked out all of the details for Time Warner Cable service in CFA. Service is being installed from Albemarle along Rte 24/27. Aerial telephone pole line installation within CFA should begin in March. Individual property lines will be run underground.

• Boating season is just around the corner. Please be considerate of your fellow members when loading and unloading your boats at the marina. Don’t block the ramps or park where you block others from getting to the ramp. Be ready to unload your boat when you get to the ramp, don’t wait until then to get out and undo straps, etc. A little common sense goes a long way! Thanks.
  

• Money has been budgeted for the Parks and Recreation Committee for 2010 and other monies were raised through fundraising activities and private donations. The committee plans to begin construction of an open air pavilion on the site of the old tennis courts sometime in the spring. If you’d like to help please contact the CFA Office.

• Renovations and upgrades to the Campground bathhouse were completed in January 2010. The Board is now considering renovations to the pool bathrooms at the clubhouse.

• The Campground bathhouse will be open for the summer season on Friday March 12. Summer rates will then be in effect until November 15, 2010.

• Please contact Michelle King if you would be willing to volunteer with Entertainment Committee activities or if you have suggestions on future events. • We’d still like to transition to an electronic newsletter to save on postage and streamline the newsletter publishing process but the response thus far has been underwhelming. Please be sure to include your name, lot number, and the email address where you’d like to receive the newsletter. We’ll also post the newsletter on our website.

• Valentines Dinner – Saturday, Feb 13- Reservation deadline is February 5th, $25.00 per couple (members) $35.00 non members. The dinner will be catered by Two Fools in the Kitchen and we will again take Couple pictures.
